2007 Paralegal
of the Year Award Criteria
Ø One
winner will be chosen by our Editorial Advisory Board and will
receive a $1,000 cash prize, an award plaque and a complimentary
one-year subscription to LAT, and will be featured in the
September/October 2007 issue. Two runners-up also will be chosen and
will each receive an award plaque and a complimentary one-year
subscription to LAT.
Ø The nominator
of the individual who is selected as the 2007 Paralegal of the Year
will also receive $100.
Ø All
nominees must have a minimum of three years experience as a
paralegal/legal assistant.
Ø No
Self Nominations. All nominees must be nominated by another person. (The nominator can be a paralegal manager, supervising
attorney, client, co-worker, association member or any organization.)
Regular contributors to LAT, including columnists, writers
and advisory board members, are ineligible for nomination.
Ø All
nominators must submit a statement on the nomination form, providing information and specifics on the nominee’s
significant activities in each of the
following categories:

Work Contributions:
accomplishments, performance, significant cases or
projects.

Paralegal Profession Contributions: national/state/local association work, offices
held, awards, certifications (CLA, RP, etc.) or achievements.

Educational Contributions: teaching, writing, CLE, conference presentations,
mentoring or advisory boards.

Civic Contributions: pro bono, community service or nonprofit organizations.
Ø Multiple
nominations are encouraged; however, a different person must complete
each nomination, with an accompanying statement per the above
requirements.
